El pequeño Gael was a little green Dinosaur with a round tummy and bright blue spots. He lived in a warm Jungle where red parrots sang, soft vines swung, and tiny frogs said, “Plop, plop!”
Gael was small, but he was very brave. He also liked to help. Every morning, he carried sweet berries to his neighbors in a leaf basket. “One berry for you. One berry for you,” he said.
One sunny day, Prince came running along the Jungle path. His gold crown was crooked. His boots were muddy. “Gael! Oh, Gael!” cried Prince. “My little bell is gone!”
The bell was special. It was silver and round. When Prince rang it, the King knew it was snack time. Ding-ding meant mango slices. Ding-ding meant banana cake. Ding-ding meant everyone could eat together.
“Do not worry,” said Gael. “We will find it.”
Prince sniffled. “I heard a huge BOOM near the tall rocks.”
Then the ground went: BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.
Birds flew up. Leaves shook. Gael’s little tail trembled. Behind the rocks stood Giant. He was very tall. He had big feet, big hands, and a big, grumpy frown.
“Did you take the bell?” asked Gael in his smallest, kindest voice.
Giant crossed his arms. “Maybe,” he grumbled.
Prince hid behind Gael. “Please give it back!”
“I will not!” said Giant. “The Jungle is too noisy. Parrots chirp. Monkeys chatter. Frogs plop. I wanted one nice sound for myself.”
Gael looked at Giant’s frown. He saw something else, too. Giant looked lonely.
“Would you like to come to snack time?” Gael asked.
Giant blinked. “Me?”
“Yes, you,” said Gael. “But first, please bring back the bell. The King is waiting.”
Giant opened one giant fist. Inside was the silver bell. But it had rolled into a crack between two rocks. Giant’s big fingers could not reach it.
“Oh,” said Giant sadly. “Now it is stuck.”
“I can help!” said Gael.
Gael wriggled into the little crack. It was dark, but fireflies came close. Their tiny lights went blink-blink. Gael saw the bell shining near a smooth stone.
He pushed with his nose. Push. Push. Push!
The bell rolled out. Prince caught it with both hands. “Ding-ding!” he laughed.
At once, King came down the Jungle path. He wore a purple cape and carried a basket full of treats. “There is my bell!” said King. “Thank you, brave Gael.”
King looked up at Giant. Giant looked down at his toes.
“I took it,” Giant whispered. “I was lonely.”
King smiled kindly. “Then eat with us. There is always room for one more.”
Giant’s frown became a small smile. He sat very carefully beside the little Dinosaur. The Jungle friends shared mango slices, banana cake, and crunchy coconut cookies.
Then King gave Gael a special reward: a bright blue bell on a golden ribbon. “For the Jungle Helper,” he said.
Gael rang it. Ding-ding! The parrots chirped. The frogs went plop. Giant laughed a big, happy laugh.
From that day on, whenever someone felt alone, El pequeño Gael brought them a berry, a smile, and a friendly ding-ding.
