Leo the Ninja Turtle was a little Ninja. He was brave, but also gentle. He moved quietly. Tip-toe, tip-toe.
One sunny day, Leo went to the Zoo. He wore his soft mask and carried a tiny backpack.
At the gate he met a Teddy Bear. The bear was small and plush, with a red bow.
“I am Teddy,” said Teddy. “I like hugs. I also like helping.”
Leo nodded. “I help too.”
Near the snack stand, a Lion watched them. The Lion was big, but kind. He had warm eyes.
“I am King Lion,” he said. “I can roar, but I can also whisper.”
“Whisper is good,” said Leo. “Ninjas whisper.”
Then they heard a sniffle.
A tiny Ninja sat by the map sign. This Ninja was shy. His belt was too long.
“My name is Niko,” he whispered. “I lost my lucky bell.”
He held up an empty string. No bell.
Leo looked at the empty string. “We will find it,” he said.
Teddy clapped. “Find lost item! Yay!”
King Lion smiled. “I will listen with my ears.”
They walked past the monkeys. “Ooh ooh!” went the monkeys.
They walked past the penguins. “Waddle waddle,” went the penguins.
Leo moved like a shadow. Teddy bounced like a ball. Lion stepped slow and safe.
At the reptile house, the air felt warm.
A big Dragon was there, behind a glass wall. The Dragon was not mean, but he was grumpy.
He blew a little puff. “Pffft.”
Leo waved politely. “Hello, Dragon.”
Dragon blinked. “Hello, small Ninja Turtle.”
Niko hid behind Teddy. “D-d-dragon.”
Leo spoke softly. “We are looking for a small bell. It is shiny. It makes ding-ding.”
Dragon sniffed again. “I heard ding-ding. It tickled my nose.”
Teddy giggled. “A tickle bell!”
Dragon pointed with his claw. “It rolled under the rock in my room. I could not reach. My claws are big.”
King Lion nodded. “Big claws, small bell. Tricky.”
Leo bowed. “May we help?”
Dragon’s eyes became round. “If you help, I will share my treasure sticker.”
Teddy gasped. “Sticker!”
The keeper opened a small side door. Everyone stayed safe. Leo went in, slow and careful.
He crawled. He reached under the rock.
“Got it,” Leo whispered.
He pulled out a tiny golden bell.
“Ding-ding!” sang the bell.
Niko’s face lit up. “My bell!”
He hugged Leo. Then he hugged Teddy. Then he hugged Lion. Even Lion got a soft hug.
Dragon gave a big happy huff. “Hmmm. My nose feels better.”
He offered a sheet of sparkly stickers. On it was a Dragon star, a Ninja moon, and a tiny Turtle shield.
Leo took the Turtle shield sticker. Niko took the Ninja moon. Teddy took the Dragon star.
King Lion got a special shiny badge that said: HELPER.
“Now you are all Zoo Ninjas,” Dragon said.
Leo smiled. “We help. We whisper. We find.”
They walked out together.
Ding-ding went the bell.
And the Zoo felt friendly, warm, and safe.
