Rapunzel and the Lost Ribbon

Rapunzel is a small girl. She lives in the Magical Menagerie. She is an apprentice witch. She is shy but brave. She likes sparkles and magic toys. She likes to laugh a lot and sing soft songs. She loves to dance with her friends.

The Magical Menagerie is full of toys and little creatures. There are soft teddy bears that wink. There are sparkling fish that jump in a clear pond. There are golden butterflies that dance on bright flowers. There are fluffy kittens with tiny bells. There are smiling squirrels on the branches. There are friendly mice in the soft grass. There are colorful frogs by the shore.

One sunny day, Rapunzel plays by a soft blue pond. She wears her favorite hat. It has a bright blue ribbon. Rapunzel cares for her ribbon. She hugs her hat and smiles. Suddenly, a gentle wind blows. The ribbon drifts away in a swirl of sparkles. Rapunzel gasps. She reaches. The wind carries the ribbon into tall grass. Rapunzel cries softly, “Ribbon! Ribbon!”

A gentle light floats near. It is the Guardian Spirit. It glows and hums a sweet tune. The Spirit is kind and happy. It looks like a tiny glowing orb. The Spirit says, “I can help you, Rapunzel.” Rapunzel smiles a little. She holds the Spirit’s warm glow in her hand.

They walk through rows of friendly creatures. They tiptoe softly on the grassy path. They look under smooth stones. They look under bright flowers. They look under soft moss. They look under shiny leaves. They even ask the hummingbird. They even ask the playful mouse. The bunny hops nearby. The fox peeks from a bush. The deer nods its head. The turtle crawls slowly behind. They all want to help. They point with paws and wings. They guide Rapunzel and the Spirit.

They follow little footprints of blue sparkles. They follow a trail of glossy beads. They follow a path of moonlight that fell early. They reach the old oak tree. The tree is the biggest in the glade. Its trunk is soft with moss. Its branches sway gently in the breeze. Little fireflies rest on the bark. They glow yellow.

They search with tiny tools. The bunny finds a small basket. The bird finds a tiny lantern. The frog finds a shiny mirror. The squirrel finds a soft scarf. They give them to Rapunzel and the Spirit. Rapunzel holds the lantern. Rapunzel holds the mirror. She uses the mirror to look around. The light shines under the tree roots. The mirror bounces the glow. They see the ribbon. The ribbon is caught on a low branch.

Rapunzel climbs on a stepping stone. The bunny hops close. The bird perches on her shoulder. The frog sits on her hat. The Spirit guides her hand. Rapunzel plucks the ribbon gently. She smiles. Her heart sings.

Suddenly, a branch moves. A tall figure peeks. It is the Sorceress. She wears a long black cloak. Her hat is crooked. Her eyes are kind but sad. She holds the blue ribbon in her pale hands. She looks lonely in her small hut nearby.

Rapunzel feels a flutter of fear. But she is brave. The Guardian Spirit glows bright. Rapunzel steps forward. She says, “Please may I have my ribbon back?” The Sorceress sighs deeply. She has been lonely. She lost her own ribbon long ago in a windy storm. She took Rapunzel’s ribbon by mistake.

The Sorceress asks, “Will you share your ribbon with me?” Rapunzel thinks. She folds her small hands. She offers to share. She says, “Yes. We can share and play together.”

The Sorceress smiles softly. She gives back the ribbon gently. Then she surprises Rapunzel with a tiny treasure. It is a glowing pebble that hums with soft light. Rapunzel’s eyes sparkle. She thanks the Sorceress and hugs her gently.

The fireflies dance. The bunny, the bird and the frog dance too. The mice clap their tiny paws. The deer and the fox join a joyful parade. They march around the oak tree. They sing a happy tune. They laugh and clap their paws and wings. They say, “Hooray! Hooray!”

The sun sets in colors of pink and gold. Stars peek out in the sky. The pond glitters like a silver mirror. Rapunzel feels warm inside. She has learned to share. She found her lost ribbon. She made a new friend. She discovered a glowing pebble.

Rapunzel says, “Thank you, friends!” She waves goodbye. She walks home with the Guardian Spirit by her side. She hums a gentle song. The pebble rests in her pocket. It glows softly. It will comfort her at night. She tucks the pebble under her pillow. She curls up in her cozy bed. She closes her eyes. She dreams of new adventures in the Magical Menagerie. Good night, Rapunzel.
