Sir Dreyden the Dragon Slayer wakes early in his bright and happy castle tower. He hears a soft cry coming from the high walls near the big iron gate. Sir Dreyden walks down the long stone steps to find a small creature crying. The little dragon is shy and lost and wants to find a warm safe home. Sir Dreyden kneels down gently and offers kind words to calm the dragon’s heart. The dragon blinks bright eyes and shakes its little head with hope and trust. Sir Dreyden smiles wide and holds out a soft hand that trembles a little. The dragon steps forward slowly and touches Sir Dreyden’s shiny steel gauntlet softly. Suddenly the castle blacksmith enters the courtyard carrying a heavy glowing hammer. The friendly blacksmith waves a big hand and greets them with a warm smile. Sir Dreyden explains the little dragon is lost and needs help to find home. The blacksmith nods kindly and invites Sir Dreyden and the dragon to the forge. Inside the warm glowing forge they sit by the glowing embers and share soft bread. The dragon nibbles bread pieces while Sir Dreyden and the blacksmith sip sweet cool water. The blacksmith says he can mend rusty gates and build safe nests for little dragons. Sir Dreyden claps his hands and asks the blacksmith to guide them to the dragon’s family. They step outside the forge and cross the gentle courtyard under the bright blue sky. A friendly bird lands on Sir Dreyden’s shoulder and chirps a guide song softly. The bird flies ahead and leads them down the twisting stone path near the moat. They follow the bird and walk through a shining wooden gate under tall castle walls. Beyond the gate they find a secret grove with sparkling light and soft green moss. The dragon’s eyes shine bright with joy as it smells the sweet summer air. Suddenly a larger dragon emerges from behind a tall mossy stone in peace. The little dragon gasps and runs forward to nuzzle the larger dragon’s warm nose. The larger dragon rumbles softly and spreads gentle wings to welcome the small friend. Sir Dreyden and the blacksmith watch with happy smiles as the two dragons embrace. The birds sing a sweet song and the flowers sway in the soft gentle breeze. Sir Dreyden feels proud and content that he helped a friend find safe home today. The blacksmith pats Sir Dreyden on the shoulder and offers him a shiny gold coin. Sir Dreyden thanks the blacksmith and tucks the coin safely into his shining breastplate. The two dragons circle above and wave their tails in a friendly dragon dance. Sir Dreyden bows deeply and waves goodbye to his new dragon friends with joy.
